I am new to vedic astrology...I understand the basics, but not enough to be able to analyze my own chart.

Every time i try to analyze my chart using vedic methids, I end up very confused. :(
Some astrologers have told me that marriage would be delayed, which sounds right, since up to now I don't even have any inclination to get married. Not until I find someone I really like anyways. Somehow the concept of arranged marriage is very scary to me. And that is another one of my worries- I do hope it would be a love marriage. Can anyone throw any light what my chart indicates? -

Deep thinking, yes. But mysterious....hmmm....at least I don't think so. If anything, I feel I am quite transparent. if i don't like something/someone, it is very very obvious. :( and I can't lie at all, unless it is the 'diplomatic' type of lies, to spare someone's feelings.
Isn' t the 7th house quite confusing??
It has Mars in there, which would normally make me manglik, but then it is exalted in Capricorn, and it is the yogkarak for cancer asc. So it is actually a functional benefic, and one of the strongest planets in my chart.
On the other hand, there is ketu, mercury, sun....and i am very confused about whether they are benefics or malefics in my chart.
The 7th house lord is saturn, the terrible, and it is posited in 3rd house conjunct jupiter by the degree and almost by the minute too. Jupiter is the karaka for husband. Again, jupiter aspects the 7th house, and jupiter no matter how weak, is still a benefic.

Mon, September 24, 2007 - 2:17 PMhey..ur a very emotional person with mood swings ranging from high to low and very fast. now moving on to ur 7th house..even tho mars is benefic for u ,it being in the 7 th house doesnt negate act that u are a manglik.but yes since its exalted there it will try to give benefic results there.7th house lord is in the 3rd house in a friendly sign with jupiter and that jupiter sees the 7th house too.so house of marriage is protected.sun is virgottam in navamsa chart so that makes it strong too.your spouse should be goodlookin with a domineering personality and will be religious and spiritual too.all in all marraige should be good with a few ups and downs here and there. -

Yes, I am quite emotional. Sometimes I have unexplainable mood swings. But I mostly come across as very calm and even tempered to other people. So in a way what Vivek said earlier is true that people don't know my subtle feelings, only those who are very close to me can tell.
I am glad to know that my 7th house is not as bad as i thought it looked :)
it is weird how the qualities you have described for my life partner are exactly the qualities I am looking for :)
From the point of view of learning astrology...i see that religious/spiritual is probably due to Jupiter. the domineering bit is may be due to mars or sun. where does the good looking bit come from ;) ;) And what about that ketu? what does that bring into the equation?

Raghu mahadasa has just begun (currently, Ra-Ve), and raghu is particularly not well placed. Althought his may be a good dasa for career and improvement along the job lines however, a tough time is seen through with regards to marriage/ love life, family . Recently you might have developed some interests in occult sciences etc. It looks like there could have been a serious relationship which wouldnt have materialized recently. Ruchaga mahapurusha yoga is present in the chart which makes u brave, valorous etc. I believe you are more of a loner and there is a possibility that you may posses a sound physique.
Are you a mech/ chem engg?
One good thing is moon in moola trikona is highly beneficial in you chart and during Ra-Mo dasa some good results can be seen.
With regards to marriage/ partner, you are very emotional, sensual and sensitive! There is a possibility that you may have late marriage. Your asc lord and 7th lord are in trine aspect hence you could be very fortunate with your partner/ marriage with similar likes/ dislikes hopes and aspiration. Your relationship (after marriage) will last forever.

You are very accurate in your description !! Actually, everything you have said is correct. I am a mech engr, pursuing phd. Occult sciences, serious relationship tht didnt materialize, loner, courageous, etc etc, everything applies. I hope and pray that your prediction about my life partner and marriage also comes true. Because as you said I am very emotional.

Fri, December 28, 2007 - 10:13 AMI am new to this group and I find it very interesting to read through the postings. My hobby is to learn astrology and read charts. I would like to share my thoughts on your chart. You and others can comment and give your feedback.
I feel the strongest point about your chart is you have very good family background, with strong and influential Mother, shown by Moon, good brother shown by Jupiter in 3rd house, and your father influences you a lot. There is Jupiter's influence on 9th house, which is his own house and there is also Sun's aspect on first house. At the same time conjunction of Jupiter with Saturn shows some weakness in your father probably in terms of his health. You will like your family (father-side) very much.
Nature wise you are very imaginative and creative (not necessarily moody or emotional). You may be capable of deep research and new inventions especially in engineering side as Mars and Rahu are strong and influence your first house. As your 10th lord mars is in 7th house and strong, you will do well in your career and your job will involve meeting or interacting with a number of powerful persons daily.
One special point in your chart is, most of the planets are in movable signs (even signs), which means you will never like to stay at one place. You will constantly travel, and that may create some turbulence in your family life.
Finally coming to your basic question - marriage - Sun and Mercury are the closest friends of Moon, so having them in 7th house is good and it means your husband will be very friendly to you. At the same time, you will face some disturbances / turbulences in married life which are likely because of Mars in 7th house which may force you to put more focus on your work and very less on domestic front.

Fri, December 28, 2007 - 9:52 PMI see that you guys are using different approaches. Predictions of future can only be relied on if the description of present and past tallies. Of course no one has seen the future, but currently only Harry's description has been upto 99% correct.

what I say about myself is based not only on what I think (and I am very introspective), but also on what other people think about me. You also said that i wouldn't be able to achieve much. This is not correct. I wouldn't say that I get things without working for them (the way most people define 'lucky'...someone who gets what he doesn't deserve or didn't work hard for). But by God's grace, I do always get results if I work for it. Even when the going gets very tough, and success seems impossible, my hard wok eventually pays off. Recently, during Ra-Ve dasha, things have been very rough career wise, but I believe that only something that is difficult to get, is worth fighting for anyways.
Regarding business, I do have some 'business sense'. That is mostly due to my interest in the psychology of people, as a group and as individuals. So I know how to best present myself for maximum impact. However, my nature does not allow me to 'bluff' people, even though I know exactly how to do it. That is why I don't know how good I can ever be at business. I could not even 'impress' my manager in my short stint at a job, because I found it very distasteful to suck up to her. I do have a 'i care a damn' attitude. I believe that if i deserve something, i will get it, sooner or later. nobody can stop that from happening. I can never sacrifice my values at the altar of materialism, and that is what i call courage, not jumping off from a helicopter with a parachute. Or driving at a speed that can kill both myself and others. If that's what you mean, then yes, I am not courageous at all.

Thanks for weighing in. Parts of what you said are correct, and some parts are way off. My mother has been a very big influence in my life. She is a very courageous lady. However, i have little respect for my father's side of the family, yes there is a very big weakness in them. But it is not health. you could say that i hate them, because they are phonies and hypocrites (and big losers in life, which is bound to happen if you are such big liars). My father i have some affection for, but because of his insecurities i can not respect him as much as i wud like to. I am very close to my mother.
It is too early to say what my job might be like, as things are in a state of flux. I want to do something worthwhile, something that I feel passionately for. I don't know whether I'll be able to do that though. But mostly for me, family comes first. But then again,who has seen the future? :)

I do like to paint, do craftwork, gardening, cooking, etc etc...in fact, anything that uses my hands. my hands are never still. they are always engaged in something or the other, unless its my mind that is engaged. Even then, i'll keep doodling. do you see that in my chart?

Sat, December 29, 2007 - 11:31 AMno i said less achivement in ratio to your energy input...well we are just sharing out knowledge .many ppl here like the prediction and the solution told by me in light of helping friends with sacred knowledge of astrology but many do not like for that i least bother .this is what we call maya...YES MAYA......one person here can tell well about maya and he is SADASHIVA.......sadashiva ji i request you to please guide me a little while interpreting maha dasha of rahu in ascendent in cancer sign.as i have heared about the pseudo perseption of things in rahu mahadasha specially for cancer ascendent and how such person usually behave to others when rahu is active .....................for trinity few ppl have told here the marriage have some kind of delay or problem is it due to exale mars??if not the bad effect of mars is no more as it is in capricorn and rahu have 7th direct vision on mars.I also invite people to share there knowledhe regarding manglic effect .is it only mars effect on 7th house or sun,weak moon,saturn,rahu,ketu all have manglic effect ratio wise as we predict in south indian tradition of vedic jyotish.Rahu maha dasha have one more effect ,you are so scared of things and the sense of insecurity is prevaling your surrounding(accept or not hardly matters)and rahu will definately not let you realise the actual problem and finding solutions of it .THIS IS WHAT WE CALLED RAHU CHHAYA GRAHA...SHADOW...shadow on intellect first..unable to decide what is right and what is wrong.....then shadow on some health problem not letting doctors to diagnose.........then most difficult problem of PRAIT(spirit of elders who do not get proper pindda daanna and keep on crushing the person).Name me a single person who have rahu in lagna and got releived of it's bad effect without TRIPINDDI SHARRADH....NARAYAN BALLI......VISHNU PADI PUJAN AT GAYA MAHATIRTH...........any one can read garurmahapurana and preite manjari if wish to know more about rahu in lagna specially for cancer ascendent.Here again ia m talking about actual practical vedic astrology not just theory......enough on this topic from my side now........ahh i forgot to tell on more small thing......Trinitty ji if possible just bring a little soil of your ancester's grave yard and water of same place and keep in your altar which we hindu consider very sacred and just wait for 18 days YOU WILL UNDERSTAND YOURSELF WHAT IS PRACTICAL ASPECT OF CORRECTION IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY..........correction is welcomed -

Thanks for taking the time out and helping me. But please believe me, I am a successful individual. I have no complains from life when it comes to money, success, or even love. I have few friends, but those are real gems. I have met some wonderful people in my life, who have shown me what life really is all about. Although Rahu and Ketu are considered evil planets, Ra-Ke dasha was the most spiritual, uplifting, and blissful period of my life. It was the best phase of my life till now. So Rahu has brought mixed results. I bought a car, moved into a new home all during the current Ra-Ve dasha.
The initial phase of Ra dasha was not good family wise, (my mother fell sick), but that period also coincided with my sade-sati.
Really, right now, I am not even worried about my marriage except occasionally, when pressure from family mounts. I am living a very happy and contented life, and I am in no hurry to spoil it by marrying the wrong person. Besides, I have this feeling that my marriage was meant to be late, i knew it ever since i was a child. so u cud say that i am mentally prepared for it.
If there is any problem in my life right now, which can not be fixed, it is my parents. I am very concerned about my mother's health. At the same time, my parents do not get along well. Its a match made in hell. I just want them both to be happy, but no matter how hard i try, it never happens. I am fed up. It is strange how no one was able to tell this from my kundali. It doesnt affect me as much when I am away from my parents, but whenever I visit them, I am really unhappy when I see them fighting all the time.
Someone else also told me about pitra pujan, we got tht done during shraddha days. We do not have any ancestral property or graveyard. Besides, the situation at home is quite explosive now, so i don't think i can ask my parents about it either.
It is not that i don't like your prediction. it is just that some of it doesn't seem to apply in my case.
Although Rahu and Ketu are chhaya planets, they do not always bring negative results. I read in an astrology book that rahu in cancer lagna is not as harmful when the moon itself is exalted or well placed. I think you are mistaking my kundali for someone else's, i don't have a weak moon. it is placed in rohini nakshatra in taurus (in 11th house), and is also vargottama.
Anyways, thanks for taking out so much time for me

Sat, December 29, 2007 - 11:09 PMAnother thing that I wanted to point out is that Mars is my atmakaraka. Although Ma mahadasha was good for me career wise, it wasn't the best when it came to family matters. Home life was disturbed throughout, along with some other unpleasant experiences. I was confused why that happened when Ma is exalted in my chart, until i learned about it being my atmakaraka.
In my experience, whenever I seek for help with predictions, it doesn't come. It only comes when I least expect it. And it comes on its own. May be my prayers are only answered when the time is ripe. :)
