Im trying to understand this, the navamsa chart is what the outcome of the marriage?.. the spouse?.. or just the outcome of the natal chart... and what would be the best way to approach it and read it?

Thank you

I think there's so many layers to reading the navamsha that you'd need a teacher as a guide.....

It's the chart of the spouse, but not literally I think, but it can give clues about the type of partner, usually confirms or add more info from what the rashi can tell you. it's also the chart of our inner self and our spiritual path. some astrologers say we grow more into it as we get older and some say it gives a clue about our next life. it also helps put some perspective about how well/not well the planets are doing: i.e if a planet is exalted in the rasi but DB in the navamsha it considerably weakens it.

There are 16 varga charts, including the rasi or main astronomical chart. Besides the rasi, the navamsa is the most important of the varga charts. The navamsa is the 9th varga chart and it is related to the 9th house in the chart. The 9th house is the house of dharma. It shows our deeper purpose or direction in life. The navamsa chart shows who we are on a deeper soul level. The rasi chart shows our fated karma and the physical realities of our life. But the navamsa shows how we feel about that inside.

The 9th house, according to my teacher, is also the house of marriage, and that is why the navamsa also shows marriage and relationships in general. Marriage is like an ashram for the everyday person, as it is in an institution that helps us to reduce distractions and harness our energy, particularly our sexual energy. Relationships in general reveal our deeper orientation in life, the ideal to which we are drawn, what we worship and hold sacred. We attract people to us that reflect who we are inside.

The navamsa is very important and an interesting study for both astrology students and people who just want to know about themselves. Every planet should be considered in the navamsa. You can consider the navamsa position to be a modification of the strength and indications of a planet in the rasi. If a planet is debilitated in the rasi chart but exalted in the navamsa, you may have some difficult karmas but you will feel okay about it, which makes all the difference. Somebody with a lot of troubled planets in the navamsa will have a hard time feeling right about anything in their life, no matter how good it is.

The navamsa is also used to see the skills has person has carried with them into this life (planets in navamsa lagna), the skills that will easily be aquired through one's life (planets in fifth from lagnamsa) and the skills that can be attained through the guidance of a teacher (planets in ninth from lagnamsa). Planets in the 6/8/12 will typically not give their abilities very easily or the native will not enjoy those areas of study/work.

it is also used to see the soul and the blessings we are receiving from our past good actions. Looking at the navamsa as it relates to the Karakamsa is important. from there we can see our Ista Devatta, Guru Devatta and Dharma Devatta, the Devattas that are here to help us achieve the soul's desires.

the navamsa also shows all aspects of ones spouse. The seventh house of the navamsa is used as the lagna for the spouse. if there are more than one marriage then you have to look eigth from and so on..

all aspects of ones sexuality can also be seen in D9, specifically the kama trines from lagna for the native and the kama trines from the ninth shows the partner's sexuality.

12th from karakamsa (Atma karaka in the navamsa). if there is a planet there, you take the planet, if no planet there, you look at the aspects. if multiple planets there, you take the strongest planet.

ok, in my rasi chart im a scorpio lagna, and in my navamsa its pisces.. How should i interpet that? that im both.. my spouse

and also shoud i use the navamsa or natal chart as a reference point to the other planets, i.e ...my natal sun in my 7th in Taurus, L7th in 7th, but in my navamsa chart the sun in my 2nd Aries, L2 in 2nd.. and take up both interpretations. basically something like that :)

Your input would be gadly appreciated
