As you may know Parivartana Yoga means 2 planets being completely connected, e.g., moon in scorpio & Mars in Cancer. And Kemadruma Yoga means moon is not assosiated with any planet bar Surya, Rahu and Ketu.

I did out a friends chart and he has Moon in scorpio in the 6th with only Rahu in the 7th and nothing in the 5th. But the moon has Gurus aspect so I dunno if you'll call it a full on Kemadruma Yoga..would you?

And by the way his moon is not deb cause venus is in the first(venus is ruler of moons exa sign and is 1 from lagna) and his mars aint fully deb cause its well placed from the sun.

A Kemadruma Yoga cancels out a lot of good auspicious yogas so my question is....Is Gurus aspect on the moon the one here negateing the Kemadruma Yoga or is it the Parivartana Yoga???

Best of luck ^_^

Kemadruma occurs when no planets (besides Sun & Nodes) are 2nd or 12th from the Moon. True planets on either side of the Moon help to anchor the mind and give it focus and direction. So kemadruma means that a person has a difficult time processing their perceptual information and assimilating their experience. It can lead to awkwardness and the inability to respond appropriately to life. In the extreme, when there are no cancellation factors, and depending on the strength of the Moon, the person may not be able to cope with life's difficulties, leading to isolation and destitution. However, despite the very harsh description of this yoga in the classical texts, it is a lot more common than you might think. It is only really bad when there are no cancellation factors and the Moon is otherwise afflicted (low shadbala, in a dusthana, debilitated, etc.).

Here are the factors that cancel kemadruma, as I have learned it:

    1. Planets (not Sun & Nodes) in angles from the Moon. This includes planets conjunct and opposite Moon, although planets 4th or 10th from the Moon are better.

    2. Planets (not Sun & Nodes) in 2nd or 12th from the Moon's navamsa sign in the rasi chart. Example: If the Moon's navamsa sign is Libra, than a planet in Virgo in the rasi chart would help cancel the kemadruma.

    3. Moon in an angle from the Langa and aspected by a benefic (use rasi aspects!).

    4. Moon aspected by all five true planets (use rasi aspects!).

    5. Any planet (not Nodes but including the Sun) in an angle from the Lagna.

    6. Full Moon!

These cancellation factors are in order of importance. I learned them from Ernst Wilhelm in his Character Yogas class. Incidentally, Ernst has a kemadruma yoga, with no planets 2nd or 12th from the Moon.

To use my tropical chart as an example, I am Cancer Lagna with Moon in Aries in the 10th. I have no planets in the 9th or 11th house, so I have kemadruma also. I feel that my experience fits the description. I often feel adrift and don't know how to process new information, especially around other people. I can feel awkward at times around people. It seems like anything is possible in terms of how I might respond, and this can lead to anxiety and even panic.

However, I do have some cancellation factors. I have the first and most important factor, with Jupiter 10th from the Moon. This means that Jupiter helps me to anchor my mind to some extent. I also have Mars & Mercury in Leo in the rasi, which is 12th from my Moon's navamsa sign of Virgo. So Mars & Mercury help as well. I have the third cancellation factor in that Mercury rasi aspects my Moon, which is in an angle. It's debatable that Mercury is a benefic, as it is with Mars, but I think for this purpose Mercury is always considered a benefic. I don't have the 4th or 6th exception, but I do have the 5th, with Sun, Moon & Jupiter all in angles from the Lagna. And my Moon is not low in shadbala. So we would not predict that I would be destitute and my life would be in ruins. However, I have had to struggle to find my way in life and for a time it did look as if I was living a kemadruma existence, as I was very poor and extremely isolated from the world for a few years. So I think that no matter what cancellation factors are present, kemadruma will still express itself in some way. But unless the Moon is in terrible shape with no factors of cancellation, I wouldn't worry about it if you find kemadruma in your chart. Many people have it.

      Hi David,

I am kemadrumeatoo :). moon in fifth in piesces with no planets in forth and sixth. But i dont see any of the described results. Although i do see some of the features of awkwardness to people in a group. I have jupiter in the ascendant both in lagna and navamsha with saturn in seventh and mercury in tenth.

      does this help me?

i admit i am a bit scared since i dont like lisening to anybody or what people say :) (trying to get over it though)

      regards

kemadruma doesn't always destoys all the yogas though itself it is not good. One salient feature of kemadruma yoga is that it makes person untidy e.g.- not taking bath in the morning ,wearing clothes in ordinary manner. In fact, i have seen that such people sometimes get such a face and physical body that even they r very rich, they don't look so!

Jupiter here obviously aspects its exaltation sign, or is in it, which means a sort of protection. However, the Moon is not happy in the sixth, as I have learned from my own personal experience. A lot of psycho-phyisiological stuff going back and forth...
Thanks to David's listing of easing factors, I know now that my Kemadruma 6th House Moon behaves exactly like that - a wandering mind with difficulty of assimilating experience. In my case, Mercury is the only true planet in an angle - so the only means by which I am able to construct my reality is a Mercurial one, the intellect and words. Hope this helps... BTW, your friend should abstain from drugs and alcohol with this setting...

    This is what I beleive

Kemadruma yoga: There are no planets in either the twelfth or the second house calculated from the Moon. Other planets do not support the functions of the Moon. The person will feel lonely and lead a rather difficult life. There are many ways in which this difficult yoga can be neutralised. An example: should the Moon be in either a kendra or a trikona house, in conjunction with another planet or being aspected by Jupiter this yoga will be greatly neutralised.

So, in this case kemadurma yoga may have be neutralised.
